UPDATE: The board that runs the park and sets the rules has studied this rule for a long time and has decided to make a rule change. When fishing on the lake, it is now required to follow Catch and Release and return the fish to the lake.
Catch and release fishing improves native fish populations by allowing more fish to remain and reproduce in the ecosystem. This practice provides an opportunity for increasing numbers of anglers to enjoy fishing and to successfully catch fish. Releasing native fish caught while in the park will help to ensure that enjoyment of this recreational opportunity will last for generations to come.
